/me ta fo ra/ : /ˈmjuːzæk/

/ me ta fo ra /: / ˈmjuːzæk – SANĀTANA – SUPRANU Records (unreleased) – Tape – Noise, Experimental Electronic
UNRELEASED – LIVE @SUPRANU FESTIVAL 2021

/ me ta fo ra /: / ˈmjuːzæk / is a composition with a Noise soul, which uses the techniques of electronic and electroacoustic music. This composition explores different possible balances and relationships in two types of opposing environments. The clear contrast between the natural and the artificial is evidenced by the enormous difference of the systems, in terms of possible and real quality and variety, to which we are voluntarily or involuntarily exposed / included. This composition was made from recordings from different parts of the world including Africa, North America, South America, Thailand, Vietnam, Greece and Australia. The original recordings were published by: bbc.co.uk – BBC ©; Zapsplat.com; 99sounds.org. The rigorous and accurate sound treatment follows hi-fi guidelines until reaching important levels of sound pressure and interaction with the listener through the use of Brain Wave Entrainment (B.W.E.) techniques. / me ta fo ra /: / ˈmjuːzæk / is a work that arises from studies on the soundscape and from the study and experimentation on the biodynamic effects of sound in the human organism. This composition with a Noise soul and a sensitive approach aims to induce the listener into a non-ordinary state of consciousness, so that he can experience firsthand some of the intrinsic potential of sound. The experience of deep listening, combined with the use of Brain Wave Entrainment techniques, can generate in the listener a deep state of concentration and visualization of the sound information, within which the artist chooses a rigid and selective. The extreme contrast between the two universes, which coexist in the same form, reflects the current relationship developed by contemporary society towards nature. The two orders are clearly distinguished by quality and heterogeneity of behavior, the unpredictability of chaos is confronted with the limitations of the human system.

/ latente / – Claudio Rosa + SANĀTANA

/ latente / – Claudio Rosa + SANĀTANA – SUPRANU Records (2021) Photography handmade book + Digital Album – Experimental Electronic.
https://sanatanakama.bandcamp.com/album/latente

/ latente / is a composite artwork made from photography and Sound Art, by Claudio Rosa and SANĀTANA.
Analog photography, used as a means of orientation within a new collective human condition, intimately reveals a vitality forced into domestic environments where presences and absences interpenetrate and coexist. Photographs taken using an analog point-and-shoot camera loaded with 400 ISO Kentmere black and white film. The entire process of shooting, developing the negatives and acquiring the images was performed by the artist in his own laboratory. Seven short music compositions based on repetition were born as a function of the image. The geometries and the superimpositions of the different planes intersect and interpenetrate, showing a vitality not yet considered. The music therefore tries to tell what is hidden but which somehow re-emerges, generating a loop of different states of being. Each composition of this work is designed to create a loop that can support the image and expand its vision. The succession of the seven compositions generates a comprehensive loop of the work.

Un quarto di luna in sol leggero – SANĀTANA

Un quarto di luna in sol leggero – SANĀTANA – SUPRANU Records (2021) SPRN///TV – Drone, Experimental Electronic

Un quarto di luna in sol leggero comes from the idea of reproducing, through a composition of Drone music, that particular emotional state that manifests itself in the act of waiting. The wait itself contains a direction, in order to satisfy a premeditated goal. “A fact is now limpid and clear: neither future nor past exist. It is incorrect to say that there are three times: past, present and future. Perhaps it is correct to say that there are three times: present of the past, present of the present, present of the future . These three kinds of times exist in some way in the soul and I don’t see them elsewhere: the present of the past is memory, the present of the present the vision, the present of the future is waiting.” [Sant’Agostino]. Un quarto di luna in sol leggero is a performance, based on the processing of sound in real time, this is articulated according to the canons of repetition and transformation. An enveloping and ever-changing sound flow. Feedback becomes thus a link between the temporal and spatial planes characterizes the properties of sound matter.

SANĀTANA – SANĀTANA

SANĀTANA – SANĀTANA – SUPRANU Records (2019) Digital Download – Drone, Experimental Electronic
https://sanatanakama.bandcamp.com/album/sanatana

SANĀTANA is the first Album by SANĀTANA for the independent label SUPRANU Records. This work was composed between March and July 2019, contains 6 tracks made through electro-acoustic processing techniques, using sounds recorded during some improvisative and guided sessions with the musician Maria Giovanna Cardia. SANĀTANA investigates “empty” spaces, “elastic” and “perpetual” time. With strictly delicacy it marks the limits and traces the directions of the experience. How a shadow transforms itself before the inquiring gaze, to hide its vital and constitutive nucleus in the dark. SANĀTANA explores the fluid and the liquid properties of sound to penetrate bodies and sculpt ethereal forms. SANĀTANA – in Sanskrit – preserves the concept of ethereal, understood as a temporal dimensio not determined by the limits of beginning and end, which is regenerated in a cyclic and infinite flow.

I-SON – Terminale_3

I-SON – Terminale_3 – TiConZero (2014) – CD – Experimental.
https://www.discogs.com/it/release/7863862-Terminale_3-I-son

I-son alludes to a vision of a postmodern reality where our vital flow is flooded with a constant proliferation and hoarding of “data” from the system surrounding us, which significantly affect our mental frameworks – cultural heritage of the industrial era – and our way of living. The resulting product is a machinic relationship system which tends to exasperate the operating logic of machines. An anti-human ‘modus operandi’ that identifies the frenzied logics of life in today’s society with the productive and efficient industriousness of machines. The effort that each individual puts into himself is therefore frustrated by the intricate net of “sensory distortion” by now established in today’s society. A net that nullifies the natural / primordial feelings of man, driving his mind towards a productive capitalistic/consumistic machine by dictating its limits and its standards. I-son stems from the idea and the physiological will to go beyond usual communication patterns – integral part of massification – regarding the conception of a work of art. All too often, the piece itself is indeed subdued to the needs and expectations of an audience already deprived of self-reflection and deconstructive critical thinking concerning artistic matters. Likewise, the aesthetic intent affects the choice of equipment and materials, thereby strictly adhering to our own guidelines. The preference for a composite set-up of both digital and analog instrumentation arises from the pursuit of an embracing sound, retro and yet contemporary nonetheless, which inspects the margin of error. All the equipment converges into an ’80s analog mixer (FOSTEX M450). The mixer allows us the opportunity to best balance audio signals, decompose them, and reprocess them in specific ways. Terminale_3 is an electroacoustic music duo, composed by Filippo Mereu and Marco Salaris, which has been active in Italy since 2009.
